One option for the morning in Amsterdam was to explore one of the regions famous cheese/clog distributors and learn more about the creation process.
The cheese facts escape me, but the samples were delicious. It's safe to assume you'll be able to snag some of the hundred or so pounds of cheese we have collectively accumulated for yourself. Maybe.
As for the clogs, we watched a great demonstration of a pair being made, first painstakingly by hand and then almost immediately with the help of a modern machine. Our own Matt Plutt was invited up to help carve out a shoe with a blade.
He was awarded as an honorary clog maker with (what else?) a clog!
Facts:
We laughed pretty hard at his demonstration of red chastity clogs, complete with a chain that connected them together.
Ian Bricker and RJ Olio bought some fancy wooden clogs, even modeling them and walking the runway for our amusement.
